Checks to make before you hand over money.
- Check the car’s history before you pay anything — finance owing stays with the car, not the seller. Vehicle history reports.
- See the car in person, and check that the VIN on the car matches the paperwork and your report.
- Never pay a deposit for a car you have not seen, and be wary of anyone asking you to pay by gift card, crypto or an overseas transfer.
