Buying a car
Vehicle history reports
PPSR, valuation and listing history reports: what is in them and how to buy one.
A vehicle report tells you what the seller might not: whether money is owed on the car, whether it has been stolen or written off, what it is worth and how it has been advertised before. Reports come from official Australian data through MotorWeb.
| Check | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| PPSR & NEVDIS | Finance owing (security interests), the PPSR certificate, stolen and written-off records, and registration status. |
| Market valuation | Estimated retail and trade-in values for the car. |
| Listing history | Previous adverts for the car, their prices and price drops, and days on the market. |
Buy a single check, the Complete Vehicle Check with all three, or select Build your own report. A build-your-own report never costs more than the complete check.
